With a little guidance and inspiration, the future can be bright and rewarding for our youth and the community. Northeast Florida Community Action Agency has created several charter programs to teach underprivileged youth greater self-awareness by building self-esteem and teaching them to be responsible adults and community citizens.
Our programs are designed to promote self-esteem in youth by encouraging volunteer service and providing educational programs such as mentorship, tutoring and career development. Our highly-trained specialists and volunteers assist youth in anger management, crime prevention and conflict resolution.
The Northeast Florida Community Action Agency has developed several programs that have helped mold young citizens into productive and successful adults. Some of these programs include:
Youth In Action
These year around programs are open to youth ages 8-18 to provide the necessary essentials allowing for growth into positive adulthood. Those involved in the Youth In Action programs regularly participate in after school activities, summer programs, receive homework assistance and learn positive crime prevention methods.
Data Busters
Through partnerships with businesses in our community, this NFCAA charter program is designed to teach 14-18 year olds computer and work skills while providing them with a paying job during the summer months, along with transportation to and from work. Participants in the DataBusters program grow up to be successful and career-driven adults.
Jaguars Honor Rows program
The agency rewards its hardworking youth by inviting them to a Jaguars football game to sit in the highly-coveted Honor Rows section. These youth are required to complete a book report and make a presentation to attend this special annual event.
